I have an engine block that I would like help identifying. I haven't had a chance to get to the casting number or date on it yet, but the pad stamp shows V0902MS and the partial vin is 18L 303607.
Correct me if I am wrong, but this is a 1968 Camaro SS 350 engine (295 HP) that had a manual trans, right?
Is there anyway to find out if this Camaro is still on the road?
Thanks for the help.
Looks like a 1968 manual L48, Van Nuys assembly plant. If you can post a clear close-up picture of the pad that helps with determining if the stamp is original. You could post it in the Orphans section on the Camaro Research Group site. Those that manage the databases may chip in here as well, if the car is known. Here's the block casting info http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#BlockCast
Post all the info you can about the block here: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?board=12.0 Casting number, casting date, stamps, and pictures. Then there will be a permanent record in case someone goes looking for it later down the road. Good luck!
