Question What glue metal to vinyl

On my 67 camaro replacement standard interior door panels there is a metal trim strip about 1/2 inch wide running full length of the panel that is glued to the vinyl, mine is coming loose. What is the best brand and type of glue to use to reattach the metal trim to the vinyl that will hold and not make a mess?
Thanks

Try DAP WeldWood. That's what I used to affix my metal strips... has held up so far.

While removing the dash pad from my 69 vert, I broke off a couple of the metal tabs. (the plastic backing on the pad got very brittle over the years, bewrae) I just glued them back on with Gorilla Glue and clamped them overnight. WOW....that stuff sticks to anything.

Remember when using the gorilla glue, the stuff bubbles and squirts out white stuff.. use a little dab of the glue because it will smear out if not. The stuff works great though but keep some clean wipes handy.

To glue vinyl to metal,, I would use the black can of 3M adhesive spray. Lowes carries this.. Seems to be the strongest of spray adhesives but if gluing a small item like the man with the dash.. gorilla will do

I agree the Gorilla glue is good stuff. I have also used clear 100% silicone calk, the stuff you would use on your house windows. It works great when you are glueing two different types of material together. You will have to clamp the parts overnight. Once it dires it stays flexible so if the materials expand and contract differently with heat, it will move with them. It also comes in black, white, gray and several colors. Black works great on a black interior.

The 3M will work. Spray can will work if you have larger areas to glue. It is sometimes refered to as contact cement or rubber cement. There are several brands available. I have a small bottle of Elmer's brand around all the time. It comes in maybe a 4 oz. bottle with a small applicator brush attached to the inside of the lid. Very handy for small items
