Default Engine casting numbers

Hey all you smart folks!!

I have an engine that I want to know more about. Its a BBC Casting number 3999290 with the following numbers stamped on it: Conv GM9T, 621 72, HI Per Pass, F9. Also have the heads to it, #6272292.

I picked it up from a guy in Dallas when I bought a 327 for some one else. Thanks for the help!!!

Thanks, but I was looking for more than what Mortec could give me. I was told it is a 402 1972 out of a Chevelle, but don't know how to read the rest of the numbers. Thanks for those quick responses.

Those heads were used on 72 402 engines and some 270 HP LS5 454 engines.
