I have a 67 with an automatic 2 speed power glide tranny but this car is not done yet and I do have the motor in it with a 350 but keep debating on finding a 4 speed manual to switch it with. What does anyone think I should do? I really would like to drive a 4 speed but have no idea what to look for in a tranny to even start to look for one what kind should I look for or does anyone have one? and is anyone insterested in the one I have?

Depends on what you are doing with this car, highway or local cruises. Then you can determine what ratio for the transmission and rear end setup.

Or...go with plan B...with a 350 turbo...a lot better than what you have now, and it's cost effective, eh?
While at it...consider going discs in the front as the next thing. capt |

I'd go overdrive auto. I have 700r4 in my 69 Camaro, 350/330 crate motor, 10 bolt with 3:31's posi, Gets +20mpg freeway. Been on the road about 4 years. Jay

And I assume u dont intend to sell replace it for quite a while? Manuals are fun..then, espec around town the novety kinda wears of, to eventually become a pain. I have had a 2 speed in my GM Holden Monaro...hated it, who and why did they ever invent that bit of crap. The Camaro a 350 , 308 diff T350 nice combo....but still sounds as if needs another gear on a road trip..espec since have knocked up around 200,000 miles in it.. Wanted to store the T350 away and drop a 700R4 in it... But the missus decided to go to Uni for a degree full time for 4 yrs ....so put a 27 diff in. 1st chioce, still, with out a doubt, is a like Jay above the 700R4, with the 308 or 33 diff. The lower 1st and 2nd with the OD in top...best of both worlds....economy , bottom end torque and cruizy highway.

Took my 4 speed out and went t-350 because I had one already. 3.08 rearend is not bad. Would like to put a 4l60e in someday. Clutch chatter and leg pain in traffic made my decision. NO regrets !

I think I am still confused I don't know much about the transmissions and don't know what the numbers mean do you think the power drive will be a bad decision to keep? Not sure whats in the rearend did not change any of that just thought it would be a bit more fun to go with a 4 speed but have no idea what to get.
