Default Which steering coupler for 3rd gen conversion

Is the Dorman 31011 now the correct coupler to use when switching to a 3rd gen steering box.

The GM part # 7826542 coupler and 7807271 bolt do not seem to be available under those

numbers. There seems to be some conflicting results in the older posts when using the

Dorman coupler. Lee’s has a large backlog and I don’t want to wait. I’m just checking for the

most current info.

Yup, that's what I used. Should crossreference to an early 80's C1500.

I picked up one of the Dorman 31011 from summit. It was manufactured wrong, had the flat spot in the wrong position inside the splined area. Sent it back and found one locally.

Some post talk about reversing it somehow. Did you have to do that Stiener? Maybe it will become obvious when I recieve it.

I think I might've had to swap sides with the bolts that connect the box to the column but that's about it. Can't remember if one hole in the metal tab on it had to be drilled a little bigger or not..... When installed correctly the cinch bolt is on the bottom instead of top like stock.

I used Lares #200 coupler.
It was less than $20 from Rock Auto.
