I recently purchased a Complete Floor Pan for my 68 RS. The car is completely intact except for the Interior. I have couple questions to continue the installation. I've search the forums but just cant find my answers.

1. How did you get the floor pan into the car? via Front window, through the floor with the front sub frame, drive shaft and exhaust removed or through the door?

2. How many Jack stands are you using and there placement. (Sub frame/ rockers/ rear-end)?

3. What are the chances of the body shifting with the floor removed?

Thanks

If you do a search for floor replacement you should find several threads.

I think most insert the floor from front/below. It needs to go up onto the rear package tray to get enough clearance for the front to clear the toeboards, then slide it down into place. That's how I'm planning mine if I can ever get back out to the garage.

Jack the car up by the rocker edges at the rear. Support the car at the front edge of the rocker as well. At this point, make sure the car is level. Allow for the width of the new floor pan when spacing the front stands.

Remove the old floor, including the torque boxes. The new floor slides in from the front from underneath. You will need to tilt the rear of the floor as high as possible, and push back on the way in. Some minor temporary twisting might be needed, but it will go. Once the floor clear the firewall area at the front, it will almost drop into place. The floor's edge should be above the firewall partial tunnel. If you brace the car somewhat, there should be no flexing. If you use sturdy jackstands, the car should not flex anyway. The floor only installs one way-just lineup the edges, and weld away. Thats the simple thumbnail version of how to replace the full floor.

Thanks Bob and Bret that’s what I've been looking for. I've not found a thread that puts it all together, Just the pieces.

To clarify the Front Sub Frame will need to pulled.

These are the post that I've collected so far. Hope this will help someone looking for the same.
