A friend of mine has 4 steel wheels with the code of YZ and all have a K-18-4 date. What were these originally used for?

Are you positive it has a YZ code?

how can you tell the difference on DC coded rally wheels?

OOK,

I know nothing about steel wheels.....

Yea......I found this thread by googling "DC rally wheels"...just cleaned up my rally wheels and found the DC code on them....no other markings outside of KH (kelsey hayes?) and GM (general motors) on the inside part of the rally wheel.......and 15x6 on the inside part of the rim where the tire covers it. I am assuming they are 67 vette rally wheels then from the information I have found.....

Yep, good assumption. Large stamped DC coded rally wheels with no date stamp were correct 15X6 67 Corvette rally wheels. Used same trim rings as later used on 15X7 z28 rally wheels. Service replacement DC wheels had a smaller size DC stamping with a date code which started in 68. Original non date coded DC rallys bring decent $ if in nice condition but nothing like DF coded wheels, etc....
