gentleman. is there a way to determine if a 69 camaro tilt steering column is original to a car if build sheet or protecto plate not available to confirm it? is there a stamped part # on column that differentiates from fixed column vs tilt column? sticker on column is not present. thx matt

The short answer is..... No.
The possibility always exists that a tilt column was taken out of another 69 Camaro and swapped into your car. If that happened, you would have an original column, but one that didn't come in that car. The only proof you might have would be the original window sticker, or in the case of a VN or LOS car, a build sheet from the top of the gas tank. Norwood cars didn't get build sheets.

But there is a date code stamped on the tube towards the lower end. it is in julian date format and has to be prior to your build date.

Near the firewall bracket, about 2-4" towards the steering wheel, generally on top.
