Now that's what I'm talking about! LOL

Great photos. Thanks for posting them under this thread!

2d pix: That is gentleman Tom Akin.

3d pix: The wagon towing Dad's 69 Camaro F/C was taken at Bristol Dragway, Bristol, Tenn. one of my favorite tracks! The wagon tow vehicle has a front dealer plate, more likely Fred Gibb Chevrolet.

Val and Dale

Do you know Gene Rains?

he had the Dick Harrell sponsorship on his 1967 Camaro that he ran in 1967 and a few years after.

Does anyone know if any Harrell race cars were sold with all the lettering and paint intact?I would think that if the car was sold that way,and was found unrestored with the name on the side or even verified that it left Hharrell's possesion with no implication of the name being removed then the owner of the car bought the name with it.Many racers remove the lettering on their cars when they sell them, but some do not.I saw a picture of Warren Johnson's prostock Firebird for sale a few years back and he was selling it with all the GM logos on it and all.I wonder what the rights are with that?

I was told that after Dick died, there was no Harrell team from that point on, and all names were removed off of his team cars. How that transpired I don't know. Maybe Val/Elaine could shed some light on that? From that point on, it became necessary to get permission from whomever owns the trademark name ( Val ) to re-apply it on said car. Proving what you have is a requirement, by your own documents, or if Val has paperwork, or perhaps an inspection of the car by those who would have built it, etc. Right/wrong/indifferent, thats the way it is.

My friends dad Norm Dewild has told me stories of racing with Dick Harrell he's in his 70's they ran match car's and they also had a early funny car, very interesting tale's from the old day's and how cool to have picture's from the good old days
