I finally got my '67 back on the road. We did a complete engine and transmission overhaul.
Everything went back stock, even the 2 barrel ![]() I spent 30 minutes in the driveway breaking in the cam. spent some more time with the car running and the valve covers off adjusting the lifters She purred like a cat! 10 minutes later, she developed a miss that went away after letting it sit while I washed the car. I then took a 40 mile round trip to Irving. It ran great on the way. On the way back: my max oil pressure went from 75 to 50 at highway speed. Shortly after, the temp went from a normal 190 to 200, then 230 and the oil pressure dropped to 15. By the time I got off to the shoulder, the temp was at 235 and the oil pressure was at 5 or less. As I reached to turn it off, she developed a knock. arg! |
