My D 368 header fit a tad higher that Stenier's car , I use the poly 31115 Energy mount, but I had to add some solid 1/4" solid spacers on each mount to get the Champ oil pan a comfortable distance away from the crossmember.

Prior to that I had the Thorley 376-1C with no issues. My car is at an 8.5" curb height from the rocker panel.

The combined height of frame stands are almost equal. There is no "Magic" stand that is a cure all. The only stands that will move the engine significantly are the BBC stands. They offset the engine 1/2" to the passenger side and about 3/4" forward of the small blocks location. If you think that you have BBC stands, the driver's side stand is about 1/2" taller.

The only stands that the "Tall and Narrow" engine mounts will fit are the 1969 302/350 (SBC) or the 1969 BBC stands.

Is it the transmission crossmember mounting pad or the engine that is off center ?

This is how my engine sits on 302/350 SBC stands. The engine is offset by about 3/16", but this depends on how your fenders were installed and if GM sheet metal etc.

The transmission mounting pad is centered for a small block.
Big Blocks transmission mounting pads are offset 1/2" to the passenger side and are 3/4" forward of the small blocks location.

Many aftermarket transmission crossmembers are made WRONG... They think all engines are on center OR all are offset. It depends on what engine was used for their pattern.

The transmission pad is off center towards the pass side so now it makes sense that these are probably big block engine stands thanks for all the info I really appreciate it you saved me a huge headache!!

Hey thanks for the info everything bolted up perfect after swapping the mounts out, the old frame stands were a couple I got from a buddy so his probably was a big block car.
Sorry didn't mean to jack anyone's thread.
thanks again!
