Default Muncie Oil - Please Advise

I am having the hardest time finding and buying the right Oil for the tranny.
I know it needs to be GL-4 - cannot be GL-5
Cannot be synthetic of have any blend of synthetic as the detergents are hard on the syncros.

Every can of oil i seem to locate says it conforms to GL4 and GL5.
I thought I had it licked...bought Lucas Oil - I think it was 75-80 w. It said it was high performance Differential and Manual Transmission Oil
Called Lucas - they said that ALL of their oils are of a synthetic blend, and I would need to add an additive etc etc blah blah blah.
Sorry, don't have a Chemistry Degree.

Can it really be this HARD ? Can someone tell me a make/viscosity etc. and hopefully available at AutoZone or Advance or NAPA - in the USA

Thank you Thank You

Go to your local NAPA store and pickup some Sta-Lube GL4 85-90w gear oil.

...what he said,..NAPA part number SL24229 (quart bottle).

Or, if you'e feelin' rich, head to your Chevy counter and ask for GM part number 89021671 (23 ounce bottle).

Stay away from any gear oil (which includes most all being sold today at parts stores) that have "Limited Slip Additive included" or "Positraction Additive added", etc. This extra slipperyness (new word) will screw up your synchros (they don't slow down quick enough) and will make for balky shifting in your Muncie.

GL-4,..tried and true!

Yep, GL-4, no additives.
You can fill the trans through the shifter boot with a hose, preferredly clear, and a coat hangar to hang the bottle from the rear view mirror.
Punch a hole in the bottom of the upside-down bottle and let gravity takes it course.
