Default Thanks David Pozzi

David

I did a search last week and saw your ball joint seperator on you site. A friend helped me build one....what a great piece on equipment for $6!!!

I used it this weekend to disassemble the the front end on my 68 Camaro. We used square tubing, that allowed me to hold it with a big adjustable. I'm certain I seperated at least two ball joints that weren't apart since 1968.

Thanks for that great idea.

Bob

I concur. Mr. Pozzi's website is invaluble, and every time I search the forums his name usually comes up. If there was anyway TC could hand out an award, David Pozzi should be the first to recieve. Something like the Camaro Medal of Honor.

Thanks all,
I've been having problems loading my webpage since last thursday. Unfortunately last Thursday AM I underwent Tonsillectomy surgery and haven't been able to speak loud enough on the phone to call my tech support people.

I just sent another email to them that It's still not loading. They say they can load it on their computers, but I tried 3 compuers here and it still won't load.

Improving my Camaro's suspension and handling has been one of the most rewarding hobbies I've had. In the early days, I was in an autocross series locally that had monthly autocrosses during the summer. I'd read what textbooks I could find on handling and suspension, develop ideas while driving a tractor at work on our farm during the day. Then at night try to make changes to my Camaro to keep it ahead in the points. I knew I needed to make at least one improvement every month to stay ahead.

Eventually I want to organize my website better and make it searchable. But I keep finding things to add to it all the time.
David

It is mainly for separating balljoints without damage to the dust boots. Normally a "pickle fork" is used but they tear up the seals, not a problem when you are replacing the balljoints.

With this tool, you back off the balljoint nuts a couple of turns each, then insert the too between the ends of the upper and lower balljoints, then crank them apart. I drilled a shallow depression in each end to keep the tool from slipping off the balljoints. I use a longer bolt in the same tool for use with taller spindles like second gen camaros.

clill,
Yes, she's been taking very good care of me!
I knew it would be painful, but not THIS painful! I'm kinda sorry I had it done, at this stage of recovery, but at least now I'll no longer have swollen tonsils 3-4 months of the year like I had before.

I am eating some Jello, but I don't really like the stuff that much. I had Mary bring home some ice cream cups and I'm slurping those down.
My throat looks like a mess! I'll spare you the details. The worst part was when I woke up from surgery, the doc had told me he would shoot Novacane in there and I'd be numb to go home. But he didn't do that and the nurse gave me something in the IV before they took it out. She asked me how much it hurt, I said "5", but really it was an 8 or 9, but I was so groggy I wasn't thinking right. She finally gave me enough to get me out of there but the first day was super painful.
