I see ShinyHiney is selling pre fit laminated trunk panels to finish your trunk They come precut and ready to upholster. Not a bad idea but dont know if subs would rattle the boards or how they fit together. anyone see these?

Can you cut wood, make templates, and own some power tools like a jig saw ?. If so why not make them yourself. It's nice buying pre-made stuff but it's really not that hard to make them. It depends on the person.
Get some big pieces of cardboard (like from a big screen TV) to make templates that will fit the area you want them in and then glue in some backup pillow blocks behind the spots where the panels will sit and you can then use screws through the panels to hold them in place, use velcro, or use cabinet hardware. The thicker the material and the better it is secured the less it will vibrate. If you get a snug fit around edges this too will cut down on rattles. Even if the panel rattles once it's done you might be able to add some additional bracing to the backside and not affect the side with the upholstery on it. Jim

I have them in mine and they do a nice job of hiding the cocktail shakers.I also have a rear panel that hides the tail lites. The bottom of the trunk is aloso carpeted which gives it a cleaner more modern look.My side panels were custom made and are friction fit .they are made out of that heavy duty fiber board that upolsteres use

Do the panels stay in place pretty well? the ones at ShinyHiney are just friction fit also and I am thinking with a sub box in front of them they might rattle if not screwed in.

I purchased the ones from shiney-hiney for my 1968 camaro. My trunk is the blue Camaro trunk on their site. My car was used to fine tune these. They fit tight uncovered, when covered they would be very tight. I did drive around with them install and unfinished and they did stay put. Although it was only to a local cruise and before I installed my sub..
I have decided not to use them though, if interested let me know. Maybe we could work out a deal. I am motivated. They have been in and out of the trunk only. They are just sitting there now. I installed a sub and since a can not put my chairs and stuff behind the panels, I do not want to use them. I wanted to hide my "stuff". My trunk is finished in spatter and looks ok and I have decided to leave it that way. These are nice since there is no cutting/measuring or messing around. They just fit.

I have my battery being relocated to the right side of the trunk area in my 67.It is the red top Optima with the billet holder but the question is that is there any way to have that covered with those panels? Not sure if they will work after thinking about the battery location.

Tony,
These panels would cover a battery located in the trunk. I would not bolt down the battery until you had the panels. When I was testing fitting the ones I am selling, I was able to fit a softsided tool bag filled with 6 quarts of oil behind them.
