Anything can be done as long as you have a blue wrench and welder.

I'm sure there are kits out there for conversion. You might have to trim the shock towers to fit widthwise. I'm sure somebody has done it.

I have a 427 in my '87 IROC Z. The engine fits fine, it's the exhaust system that's the issue. My car even has the stock hood with some trimming of the inner structure and a low profile manifold. I did not do the install on my car, but it's obvious that some banging and cutting will be necessary to fit the headers. Also, my car has no heater, no AC, no power brake booster, and no power steering - so beware of clearance issues with these items. Also I have less than 3" of ground clearance which could be an issue depending on where and how much you drive the car. Thirdgen.org has a ton of info on big block swaps. Good luck.

It just will not be easy and will require a little planning. Going back to the recepie for Rock Soup; first find a BBC.

putting a big block in a third gen Camaro is probably about as hard as putting a small block in a Vega..

Thanks guys. It's a fun car and a lot more worry-free than my 1st Gen.
