if i am going to use 14 inch wilwoods in the front and 13 inch in the rear,
do i have to go 18 inch? If so, what dimensions are optimum for pro-touring? Also, what size tire would be optimum for pro-touring? I will be taking the car on the track 10-15 times a year once it is set up.....and want to make the right purchase only once, so please help... thanks D |

I assume that you have a forst gen Camaro. If you are using the stock subframe you can at the most use 8" wide wheels and 245 wide tires at the front. The wheels would have a backspace of 4.875" to fit properly. You might find that they touch the frame at full turn.
In the rear 275 wide on 9.5 wide wheels will fit in the stock wheelhouse. If you minitub you can fit 305 to 315 wide tires. 18 inch tall would probably go around the 14" brakes but it can depend on the wheel design. Maybe others can chime in here. Myself I have 13" C4 brakes with my 17" Budniks and I have plenty of clearance to the wheel. For the looks the wider wheel the better. For performance the same. With a relly powerful engine you would need the widest possible in the rear. Jan

I have a '69 Camaro with a stock sub frame and I managed to stuff an 8.5" wheel under the front with a 265/35x18.
