Post Where to hook up power for electric choke?

I have an Edelbrock 1405 manual choke carb. I would like to add an electric choke kit to it. Where have any of you gotten your power source from? Did you splice into a wire? Get it from another part? Any tricks as far as adjusting or setting up the electric choke? This is on a 69, if that makes a difference where to get my power from. Thanks.

Any 12 volt source that is controlled by the ignition switch in the run position. I was able to hook mine in an empty cavity on the fuse block with a female wire connector.

no inside the car in between the fuses there are male plugs. Just use your test light and find one that is hot only when the ignition switch is in the run position.

There are 2 easy places to get power.

If you have replaced the original resister wire to the coil because you added electronic ignition, that one is easiest to tap into, that's the one I used, wire is about a foot long and completely invisible back there. And no, it does not cause any problems with the ignition.

The second place may be even more controversial. The yellow wire on the wiper motor is ignition switched power, it will work fine too.

If you car originally came with and anti-dieseling solenoid (or whatever the heck that thing was) it had a nice heavy 12v "key on" wire running to it - an excellent source also. I use that wire for my ignition
