How do I safely remove and then replace my rear window molding? I'm getting water in my trunk. I think it is coming in from around the rear window since the trunk seal looks good.

The tool you need to buy has 2 hooks on it. One on each end. I have seen them for sale at Schucks, Kragen, and Grand Auto.
If it is leaking there then you must have some rust holes.

If your trunk seal has been replaced, be sure the cut end is at the bottom where the latch is not the top, it will leak for sure if the cut end is at the top of trunk.

Maybe before you try and remove the trim you could narrow down the leak by using a hose. I fought trunk leaks for quite a while and finally found out that the tail light housing seals were the problem.

Also, beware of some of the trim removal tools sold at auto parts stores. Some of them do not work correctly because the radius at the end of the tip is too large to fit behind the trim clip. I ended up making my own from a good putty knife.

Good replys, I would also like to add if you get the window molding clip tool to be careful when using it. You can crack your window if the hook catches the edge of the glass. If the leak is from the glass I would consider having a glass shop remove and reset the glass, most of them will warranty their work for as long as you own your vehicle (ask them before making a appointment).
