Default Front coil spring spacers

Let's just say, hypothetically of course, that a guy put Hotchkis lowering springs in the front of his car, and now it sits so low that his headers scrape when he backs out of the driveway. Would he be able to buy a spacer that sits on the lower A-arm to raise the front end of the car about an inch and still keep the same (or close to it) spring rate? Purely hypothetical of couse, but a guy I know VERYwell might be in this predicament as soon as he gets his car down off the jackstands.

Certainly wouldn't hurt. You might go for the rubber insert between the coils.

You can use the insert that is maketed as a noise supressor. The entire spring seats into it.

Codi - who makes the animal you speak of? Thanks again.

ok well, I'm irritated, I hate it when I misremember stuff. When I was putting my suspension together someone sent me a link, cause I had one side higher then the other.

I went thru all the posts, can't find it. Sorry Al.

Parts stores carry the solid hard rubber flexable spacer to lay on coil. tape them to the top of the coil and insert, dont miss the spring pocket upstairs. 5/8 or 9/16 should do it. Dont put those twist in jobs. Easybutton. Safe to have front end alignment checked again.

Yea Jim, and you are much younger than I am. Wait a few more years.

Try this too. http://www.mr-gasket.com/SearchResults.aspx?brandId=1

I don't know if it's the link/site you're thinking of, but Global West carries aluminum spacers for under the coil, like Al was thinking. I got a pair of 0.5 inch in case I need them.

Hey Jim - I think I found it! You must have meant Energy Suspension insted of Competition Engineering.

http://www.energysuspensionparts.com...-Isolators.asp

Anyway, I let it down off the stands for a look see and HOLY CRAP it's low! Too low for my tastes, and too low for my header's tastes as well. It needs to go up at least an inch. Thanks for the help guys, and wish me luck.

I asked a similar question a while back, and Chris (CFunk) pointed me to the GW spacers. You can find a picture and info at the link in his sig.

Don got it for me, a full spacer. As for Jim, to much time with the "grains" liquid and hot tub.

I'm hoping to not have to use mine, but they are cheap enough that it's just nice to have them as an option.
