Well, since the Gen IV is still in "pre release", there is no information on the website yet, here are the cliff notes. A couple years ago Vintage Air was hired by Ford Motor Company to design the Air Conditioning for the then brand new new Ford GT (GT40). When the project was over, Vintage Air had what is now known as the Gen IV. So in short, if it is good enough for a $200,000.00 production car, it is probably good enough for our old Camaro's.
The Gen IV uses all electronic control and servos through a control brain. The Gen IV uses no cables for easier packaging and smoother control operation. The evaporator is larger, and bigger is better. The following link gives information on the universal GEN IV. The same features apply to the gen IV retro fit kits for our Camaros. THIS IS NOT THE CAMARO KIT! http://vintageair.com/cat2006/19.pdf As for attaching in our Camaros, like other Vintage Air retor fit kits. Brackets are supplied to mount in various locations under the dash without drilling through the firewall or cowl.

Correct, this does not look like the old "Surefit" series that I have installed in first gen camaros and the Trifives. Looks more like the Old Air or Classic design. Amazing how that must have taken to heart some of my complaints when their first Surefits came out. These people are out of San Antonio.
