Default 68 camaro

I just bought my first 68 and was looking at the new crate motors,the car i bought has no motor tranny or radiator,they sell a turn key motor but it has a long shaft water pump,has anybody installed one of these and just installed an after market radiator with electric fan.Any help would be much appriciated,Thanks Gbatey

i did a crate motor from engine factory 350/430hp loaded inside , hooked it up to tko 600 5 speed tranny and used a ron davis radiator with twin spal fans. there are less expensive alternatives too.

Cool Re: 68 camaro

I bought a turn-key 383.. added a 700R4, long water pump, and alum radiator.
I decided against the electric fan and installed a Flex-a-lite 7-blade fan.
My '68 runs and cools fantastic.. I'm very happy.

Did you have any trouble with the fuel pump tite against the upper control arm,Thanks Gene

Yes, fuel pump was really tight against the cross member-no matter the clocking. I believe I ended up using a carter pump.

See my signature for what I went with.
Used a short water pump and electric fan.
Used a Holley Blue Electric fuel pump.

68 502/502 with kiesler 5 speed. dual electrice fans.373 posi rear with four wheel disc. brakes. go fast but stay cool.
