He, He....now that I have the engine running great with the LT1 intake I think that I'll switch to a new one (always gotta have a project going you know).
Ha, and I sold some tools locally (thank you Craigslist) so I have money to burn!!! I think that I'm going to switch to a Holley Stealth Ram. It looks really gawdy since it seems to have been based on the old dual quad intake ( http://www.holley.com/7542P.asp ). Can't beat the "cool" factor and it's really not all that expensive ($309 for the unpolished). All of my stuff will just swap over from the LT1 intake, so..... Anyone have a reason that I shouldn't use this intake? |

nope...
but is it really any better that the LT1? Will it fit under your hood?

It will clear the stock cowl hood on a small block. Probably won't have the top end of the LT1 intake, but better low end. Seems to be where the Holley shines, low/mid range grunt, but runs out of air for high rpm useage. Jody |

I dunno, but I think that the "cool factor" goes up!
It also will clean up the coolant routing and give me a little "cleaner" look. It's kind of tight back by the dizzy with the coolant hoses and fuel lines. Makes it harder to work on, that's probably what I'm most interested in fixing. Quote:
We'll see how it runs with the Holley intake. I didn't really build the car with a certain HP or ET in mine. Just a fun car to cruise around in. In the 69 ragtop with the same engine/tranny my best run was 13.2 at 104-5 (I think, after a quick review of my slips), so I figure maybe I can get 12's in the coupe and that's good enough for me. |

should be a great match for that rpm range. Jody |
