I bought the KYB GR-2 shocks for the back of my 69 w/mono leaf but the required adapter kit 107 has been backordered for weeks (Summit keeps bumping out the "expected delivery date").
My question is... does anyone know what this kit consists of and is it something I could substitute with a trip to Home Depot or the local parts store? Just hate looking at my new shocks in the garage for a month now with no end in sight. Thanks

Interesting.....
I bought the GR-2's about a year ago from a local source. They didn't ask me what kind of rear springs I have - they just sold me the shocks. I had mono springs. When I opened the box, it was obvious the shocks were for multi leafs - at least they had the huge stud for the lower mount plate, and no provision for the through bolt type mount that the mono plate uses. I just removed the steel sleeve from my old mono shocks and installed it in the new GR-2's, and bolted it up. Works perfect.

Wow, thanks! I'll try that.
So i guess the kit is nothing more then a sleeve? Thanks Al

Dunno what's in the kit - but if the bottom of your shock is just an unsleeved round grommet, what I did should work for you.

Got the GR-2s installed, thanks to your advice Al.
It was a bear getting the 38 year old shocks off but transplanting the old sleeves to the new shocks did the trick. Thanks for saving me $21 on the kit!
