Default Almost ready to fire!!

Got the new HSR intake installed, fuel lines replumbed (just checked for leaks and she's good to go), new aluminum water pump installed, new lokar cables installed (couldn't find GM stuff that would work), Crower 00321 cam and lifters installed.....I think thats it!

Need to prelube the engine, bolt on the top half of the intake, run a couple of vacuum lines, hook up the sensors, install the alternator belt and she's ready to fire!

I guess I thought that there would be more lifter noise, but it's really very quiet. Maybe just a little mechanical whir....ummmm...maybe like a really quiet sewing machine? I also thought that the 242/248 duration would thump a little, but I guess the 114 and 383 eats it up. Honestly, there's not a whole lot of difference in sound between this cam and my old one. We'll see how it runs when it's not so damn hot!!!

Why the change from the LT1 intake to the HSR?

I dunno....I had a little extra cash from selling some stuff and I thought that this intake would look a little nicer. Also I needed something to do I guess. I swapped the cam too as it was time for a change, had that GM cam in there many years. The LT1 intake is more "stealthy", lower profile, etc but the HSR kind of fills up the engine compartment. Cleans up the coolant routing a little too....I think it was that I was mostly bored and I liked the HSR slightly more.

I adjusted the fuel map at idle and I can hear now that this new solid cam has a little rump to it. Sheesh after all of the brain power I spent thinking out cams, this Crower is pretty nice. So far it doesn't seem to big or radical at all. Just a little more than the GM cam. We'll see how it is driving around.
