Default Turbo 400 identification

When I bought my car the previous owner told me it was a turbo 400. I was wondering if there is any way of telling exactly what trans I have. Is there a number or a specific type of pan for this transmission.
The reason I would like to know is that I do not have a linkage for the passing gear, and I am tryiing to find out which one I need.
Another questions is there an aftermarket one size fits all solution.
Thanks in advance.

The turbo 350 pan is basically square the turbo 400 pan's shape looks like a fat state of Nevada.

I went and had a good look at her and I am pretty sure it is a 400. I also checked the kickdown switch and it is in place. All that seems to be missing is the linkage(lever) that pushes the plunger when the gas pedal is floored.
Does anyone know what part I am looking for. It is a quadrajet carb, and the switch has about a 2 inch long plunger. I will take a picture and maybe someone can tell me what I need to do to get it working.
Here are two

I am not sure if this set up is even for this car.
Any help is much appreciated.

You need to fab. up a bracket on your throttle rod, that will contact the switch plunger, when you stomp on it. TH-400's didn't come from the factory in a '68 behind a 327 or any smallblock for that matter. A TH-350 has a kickdown cable and the TH-400 has a switch, like you have.

Yes, I thought as much. I think the last owner had designs on a Big block but ran out of cash. He had the big block springs in it. Is there any other after maket type of switch that I could use. It is not a big deal but I would like to have it working if I could.

I have used the lokar kickdown on classics in the past for the TH400. I works greats, and looks even better. I think summit sells them for around $60. It is a 30-40 minute install (including wiring) very easy!

Hey thanks Strick. I looked at the kit on the Summit web site. Where does the switch bracket attach? I will be in the US next week, and I will try to pick one up.

It uses two pan bolts, if I remember correctly. It fits snug to the transmission and then braided line to the carb.
