Default Holley TBI on my ZZ4 - ignition question

Jegs will be delivering my Holley Commander TBI on monday - really looking forward to this project!

Does anyone know how my ignition system will connect? I have a non-computer controlled HEI distributor and a MSD 6AL ignition. I'm concerned that i may need to order an additional wiring harness adaptor or something else that i'll be missing when i go to install this.

Thanks

I just bought a 69 w/ a Holley Commander 950 TBI set up on a 383 SB.The person that put it in had to get a small cap HEI and a wiring adapter from Holley.I think you can use what you got but you will not have timing control.

Jeff, the c950 needs an rpm signal to function, which it can get from the tach terminal on your HEI. I have run a C950 this way, and it certainly functioned just fine.

The c950 has the capability of controlling the cars ignition timing. To use that you need a distributor intended for computer control. A computer control distributor will not have a mechanical or vacuum advance system, and will have a different type of module, with more than the 3 wires yours has.
