1982 Indy Pace Car Z28 and 1989 IROC-Z
Guys there is a 1982 Z28 Indy Pace car edition for sale near me. It has T-Tops with the cross fire injection engine. The guy is asking between $2,500 to $3,000 for it...Car looks clean and has only 84k miles on it. The problem? I hate that 85 MPH speedo as I had one in my 1984 Z years ago. And you guys here know how I feel about 305's in Camaro's ( I hate 305's in Camaro's). But I heard these 1982 Pace cars even in poor condition are now worth like $6 or $7k which is alot more than a 1989 5.7L IROC-Z in good condition. In good condition these 1982 Pace Cars are now worth over $10k someone told me.
I have 2 questions...
Question 1) Is it true? Is the 1982 Z28 Indy Pace car in average all original condition worth almost 10k? Have the 1982 Z28 Pace cars climbed up in value like the 1978 Pace Car Corvette. Neither car was a barn burner for performance. NADA says $9,653 in average condition.
Most 1989 & 1990 5.7L IROC-Z's are way over priced. NADA says a 1989 IROC-Z is worth $3,750 in average value. I see average 1989 IROC's with 84k on them go for $7,000 and some at $8 grand.....State Farm and other insurance companies only go by NADA for IROC-Z's. That means $4k and $5k if you a lucky.
Question 2) Are the 1989 & 1990 IROC-Z's over priced and if so what is a good clean 1989 IROC Z, 84k with a 5.7L and T-Tops worth? Is it worth more than the 1982 Z28 Pace Car?
