Default LT1 Injection

Would it be possible to use an LT1 intake and fuel injection set up on a frist gen SBC? Drill the intake for a distributor and run it that way. Would appear to be the best of both worlds. Fuel injection that works fairly well without the optispark. Just a thought. I have access to some of the stuff needed but not the complete engine.

I believe I've seen a website where they show you how to replace a TPI intake with a LT1 one so I guess it could be possible.

After pricing some of the misc. items I do not have, it may be cheaper to go buy an aftermarket system. Any recommendations? This is a 400hp+/- motor that is street and autocross driven.
