Default SBC Casting #'s VIN

I'm trying to decode the Numbers on my Blocks So far. This car is a mut so even though i have a 68 Camaro Standard V8 build in Norwood[Decoded from the VIN of the car] the drivetrain may not be from it.

I was told i'm a 350, and i know i'm a 2 bolt. I did tear down part of the engine to get these numbers below. How can i tell for sure i'm a 350?

Under the assumption i am below is what i found with my #'s given a 350.

Block:

<using nastyz28.com>
Casting # [Dr. side rear on flange]: 3970010
1969to79, 350, 185 to 370HP, 2 bolt, application: car truck vette

I couldn't read the date code on the rear of the engine [i'll give it another try tonight].

Vin #'s [on the front of engine on the machined pad]:
C6U146960 V0107TYA

<Using NastyZ28.com>
V0107TYA: Flint Engine Jan 7
Suffix Date CID Application VIN HP BBLS Body
TYA 1975 350 car & bus V LF5 145 2 c-10 & 1500
TYA 1978 350 van & bus L LS9 165 4 c-20 to 3500

what does the VIN mean? V LF5? L LS9? What does BBLS mean?

I have no idea how to decode C6U146960 - Any ideas?

<using jimsperformace.com/cranks.html>
Crankshaft:
Casting # 3932442
267/305/350 Cast Crank with Medium Journal, 3" Stroke, 2 piece main seal

Camshaft:
on the face of the cam that points out of the front of the block: Comp Cam 270 H

Transmission:

<using chevellestuff.com>
Case Tag:
I know its a TH-400 from the pan so since the tag only has stamped markings:
260 : 260th day from January 1, 1969
70-CA-12122
1970 CA - 350,396,400,402 (145,160,170,240,255,265hp) 2bbl, Chevrolet, Monte Carlo, Tranny Serial Number 12122.

Rear Tailhousing:
8628121 No idea how to decode that

Thanks for any and all help!!!

Someone else will tell you exactly what your engine is out of etc. The crank is listed in Mortec. com as a 267, 305, or 350 crank. 3.48" stoke

Thanks,

That's a different stroke value then the site i went to - How do i know which site is correct?

I found the Cam Value its 270H from Comp Cam. But i can't seem to find any more info on it. Any ideas? Or things i should look for to help get more information.

Thanks

Mortec is usually pretty close. The 3" stoke would be a 302 or 283 crank.

It's out of a '76 Chevy full-size van built at the Lordstown Van Plant.

I would love!!! to know how you decoded that. Did you have a chart or a website or something? I'm trying to keep a log of all the #'s what they mean and the place of reference where the info was taken from.

C = Chevy truck or van
6 = Model year 1976 (that block was only used from '69-'80)
U = Lordstown plant identifier
