Default Stainless braided brake lines

I ruined my front to rear brake line removing it yesterday and am looking for a repalcement. I know you can but pre-bent ones in regular and stainless from several sources. But, I was browsing the Summit racing catalog and saw the stainless BRAIDED flex type brake lines from Russell and Earls that come in some longer lengths for good prices. I read in the product description that these are not DOT approved and for competition only. Should this be a concern for my use on a street driven car? Has anyone used these SS braided lines from the master cylinder to the rear axle.

Thanks.

If it ain't DOT approved, don't use it. It could be against you, God forbid, if you got into a situation and a civil suit came against you for using non-DOT approved items.

Agreed. "Flex" lines are for just that - flex points. Use them only where needed. Some flex lines are better than others, but keep in mind that with the length of flex line that would be needed to outfit an entire car's braking system, "bulging" of the lines could lead to pressure loss at the wheel cylinders/calipers. Good Luck

Yes non-DOT braide brake lines is something to stay far away from. I carry Classic Tube and they have DOT braided lines if you are still in need.

Thanks for the responses. Probably not a good idea as you guys say. When you read the description in the catalog it makes you think they are indestructible.....then they throw the "non-DOT" stuff in there at the end.

I agree completely with this, and run as much hardline as possible with the absolute minimum flexible line of any type.
