Can anyone supply me with the correct paint color for applying a black bumblebee stripe to the front of a '67 SS? Is is flat? Semi-gloss? Gloss?
Also, the back panel that the tail lights mount to above the bumper is black. Should this get the same color of paint as the bumblebee stripe? Thanks for your help |

wow tough question cant find a for sure answer for you but i would assume that they used tuxedo black for the stripe color..this is assuming that your orig stripes are painted on and not decals as was the case wit h many camaros.....ok as for the back panel it should be the same color as the car.... if not you may have an odd ball camro ... or an altered car , not sure your cars specifics but never heard of an origanal car with a diffrent colored valance pannel..ps some camaros had half decals and half paint for the same emblem so it can get confusing

The nose stripe should be gloss black.
The rear pan (around the tail lights) should be body colored for a small block car and semi-gloss (almost flat) black for a Big block car. Steve [This message has been edited by mccorry (edited 12-04-99).] |

McCorry, thanks for the reply. This car is a '67 with a 396 so that is why the tail panel is black. The paint on the front stripe has deteriorated to the point it was difficult to tell what it color it should be. Have you had any experience with the stencils to put these stripes on? I took great measurements but wonder if it is worth spending the money to get the stencil for the painter??

Its really up to your painter. Just don't forget to leave the break for your SS fender emblem and don't put the stripe to far forward on the header panel.
