Default Lunar Eclipse anyone?

I'm in central time here. Should be around 5am during the total eclipse here in Texas, just a little earlier than I normally get up for work so it shouldent hurt me any. I'm looking at it now and it's a big ole full circle with a slight hint of red.

Who's gonna watch it?

Here is a link with everyone's time zone on it. It also has lots of interesting info of past and future eclipse events. Heck, I think it even has a link to live coverage of the eclipse......for those of you with cloud cover.

Oddly, I woke up at 4:52 AM. Took a leak, and went down on the deck. Was a lil cloudy, but could see the red moon between some of the pines in the backyard. Wish I'd set up the camera on a tripod the night before, woulda made a cool pic. Went back to sleep.

I checked it about 3:30 am pacific thru the bathroom window. Looked like a normal half moon. I was disappointed as I thought it was supposed to be redish in color.

Saw it when it was just a VERY low dull yellow w/ the complete shadow before it disappeared behind the neighbor's roofline at like 5:10 AM or so..

Way cool to me..

Glad to see some of you guys got to see it. I woke up right at 4:45 and got to see the last of the sun covered spot go into the shadow. At around 5:30 it was a deep red glow and by 6:15 or so it looked like a basic half moon and pretty much back to it's original color.

Pretty cool, I like watching that kinda stuff.

got up and saw it @ 4:30 through the clouds - pretty cool stuff

My neighbor has been keeping us up to date on the passage of the space station over head recently also, apparently he is getting a schedule off the NASA website somewhere - also cool to see- sometimes you can go in and turn on the NASA channel on the satellite tv and they are live from the station FWIW

I've posted before about laying out in the middle of center field in the park at like 10 PM-ish w/ my Buddy back in '58 as we caught a glimpse of Sputnic going over!

How that little event changed the World!!
