Default 68 RS Camaro Headlights

Gday all, new at this but must start somewhere, have just purchased car on recent trip to CA, organising shipping to Australia at moment. Have to purchase a few items over the net seems plenty of companies selling old Chev gear over their. Can anyone advise me on front head lights, i understand 68s used vaccum however is the electric system better, grilles are all on car, should i get complete Kit and start fresh.
Thanks

You might want to post this in the Tech section rather than Test Drive...

First, Welcome to the site
Next, like Buck said, picking a Forum for a given question can really change the number and type of answers you are gonna get. This particular question would go better in the Restoration, Camaro Tech or maybe Electrical forum.

To answer your question quickly from my experience with both systems, I would prefer to have the Vacuum type doors. They are generally less problem prone, easier to maintain and are not hard to find parts for still.
I have helped with one of the Repop/Retrofit electrical systems and IMHO the components, connectors and wiring were not the best quality - I expect he will have problems with it long into the future.
If I had the choice to convert a non-RS car to RS front trim, I would chose a full front 'Clip' over any kit I've seen so far - again IMHO.

Hope some of this helps and other chime in with good feedback on you posts.

Your Yank friend;
John
