Should I have this bar on my '67 vert. I saw it on a Camaro listed on e-bay and thought I would ask.
Thanks guys!

The one at the front of the subframe is the spoiler brace . Do you not have a front spoiler .
Mark.

Yes I have a front spoiler, but do not have the brace. I will attempt to find one with one of the Camaro suppliers before I place my next misc. parts order.
Thanks guys!

What's different about the brace that lets you know it's aftermarket?

67's don't have spoilers or braces, spoilers became an option at the start of the 68 model year. Originally the early 68s didn't have front spoiler braces either. The braces were added to later 68 model year cars because the front spoilers were folding back at higher speeds.

I haven't checked yet, but the outers are in place on mine.

I have owned several 69 Zs and most do not have the middle bar. When new, the Z/28 was quite low and they were always scraping on the pavers in parking lots, and usually punched through at the centre. Most guys removed them and just had the outside braces. Since I was restoring the cars I would buy the aftermarket set and replace them all. When I bought my 68 there were no braces at all. So again I bought the kit and to my surprise there was no hole for the center bracket in the frame. I guess you could drill a hole and tap it but I just left it off. They are quite stiff in the middle anyway.

The flimsy aftermarket one needs it... My 68 doesn't even have a hole for one.
