Do the 1969 X77 taillights have chrome rings?
If I understand it correctly, not including the RS 69 taillights, there are two different taillights, one with chrome rings and one without? A 1969 Camaro with the "style trim" or "X33" had the tail lights with the chrome rings installed. Are these taillights identical except that the chrome rings are installed? Thanks Team Camaro... |

All '69 standard tail lamp lens have bright trim around the circumference. Only SS and style trim equipped cars received bright trim on the two vertical bars.

![]() If the car has the RS option there should also be a trim ring around the front parking light/turn signal lens. My car is not an RS but I added the trim rings to my car because I thought the lens assembly did'nt look right without them especially since the rear had the trim on the tail lamp lenses.

if I remember correctly, the parking light trim was for early RS. Don't know when in the model year they were eliminated.

Does X77 also get the vertical bright pieces in the tail lamp?

It is to my understanding that the parking light trim was only on earlt RS cars but I am not 100% sure. What I was refering to was the vertical strips on the rear tail lights. The X77 cars or any other car with OUT Style trim group would not have the vertical stainless trim on the tail lights.
I hope this helps, Nick |

RS front turning signal chrome trim was early RS item only. I vaguely recall they quit putting them on around Jan of 69. Im pretty sure CRG has some reference to it in their data.

Mine is a May car. No trim. Even the light bulbs are original. And the backs are 'gold'.

Yeah, Yeah, Fred, and that info is going to cost me money, as I will now have to pay to get mine plated!!
By the way, 69PRO's pic of the taillights shows the vertical pieces to be polished. Actually, there was a center band of semigloss black on them from the factory. Usually gone after all this time. I scuffed the center a little, taped off the edges with scotch tape, and sprayed with rustolium 7777. Pulled the tape off before the paint was completely dry. |

Thanks for the education. My X77 has RS taillights (so no back-up lights on the car). I'm now on the hunt for original standard rear taillights.
Are the housings the same between the RS and standard taillights? |

No. The standard housing have the extra hole for the back light socket
