Default suspension

Hello, I have a 67 convertible, and I have just fitted new single leaf springs. I did this because the car was slightly lower on the drivers side ( lhs ) than the rhs. Guess what? the car is still lower on the lhs, by almost 1.5 inches.

Any clues as to what the cause could be are most welcome.

Thankyou

If the rear rails aren't bent/distorted, could be a bad or mispositioned front spring.

Was the car sitting on the ground when you tightened the bolts at the bushings?

That's an excellent point... I always wondered why you had to have weight on the car... is the pressure on the bushings enough to prevent the spring weight from transferring through the mount bolt?

Yes, it is - that's why the assembly manual is VERY clear about not tightening any bushing through-bolts unless the suspension is compressed to normal ride height.
