Hey guys i have a 68 camaro with a bbc 460 410 gears tb400 would like to change to 2004r can i still get the power out of this engine with tis trans?

Yeah, and you'll get the power to the ground too. Only problem you'll have is that the transfer won't be via the rear wheels but rather the explosion of parts prior to the drive shaft. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Look into a 4L80E trans. for that. You could build a 2004r that would hold up but, it will cost more then a 4L80E. A stock 2004r was built to live behind V-6's and low powered V-8s.

you can get 600 hp to go thru a 2004r reliably...upwards of that, and you`re lookin at an 80 like others reccomended...maybe jake will pipe in with further advice...
