That's where mine is with an infrared repeater so I can control it without opening the door. Works great. I used an under dash mount upside down. You'll have to cut a hole in the back of the liner, but they are readily available and cheap.

They make radio/changers that mount in the trunk and all you need up front is a remote. That was the one I was going to buy, until I realized I'd rather listen to the engine.

I mounted mine in the glove box also. As was previously stated you will have to cut out the back of the box to fit the unit in. I put the cd player in the mount bracket and put it all the way to the back of the glove box then traced around the mount, cut out the back and slid the cd player in enought to get the door closed and then marked a line across the face of the mount and down both sides and the removed the player from the mount. The mounts have tabs on all 4 sides that can be bent. I located 2 tabs on the bottom that I could use and bent them straight down and then marked box where the tabs would go thru and made 2 slits in the bottom of the box. Slid the mount in, bent the tabs up to lock the mount down and slid the player in. You can't see it with the door closed but my IR remote won't work with the door closed so I just turn it on, close the door and press the gas.

Old Man, can you post a picture of your set up you have? Sounds like what I'm interested in doing too.

Tom at the bottom of my list of pics in my Interior folder are pics of my Pioneer setup with 6cd changer hanging under the glove box. I could put it in the trunk but then have to get out of the car to change the cartridge. I left both in and under the glove box.

Here is an idea. I dont really even listen to CDs anymore. So im wiring my trunk with a 4-speaker amp, I will then run a plug into the glovebox for a MP3 player. Simple cheap and does all I need it to. you can even get a MP3 with a built in radio if you want to listen to am/fm.

Not sure how much these will help, I didn't want anything showing from the outside or while sitting in the car.

Old Man, I like that, it looks simple too, are you also referring the mount bracket that comes with the stereo or one that you had to buy seperately? I notice you also say your remote won't work with the door closed, I wonder if one is made with radio frequency and not IR, it would work with the door closed then..........

I just used the mount bracket and face plate that came with it. I would pull the cd and show you but I can't find those damn little DIN tools to get it out. My complete system is clean and simple, I like it that way and it sounds ok too. The Pioneer CD player has a 22 watt per channel mosfet amp which is enough to power the 2ea 4" 2 way dash speakers and the 2ea 6" X 9" 3 way speakers in back which are hidden by the mesh package tray. I did the install for a total of $225.00, cheap and it sounds decent which works for me.

Here's mine--$12 under-dash mount case and $50 Pioneer MP3/CD Player (used) with remote. Works perfect.
