Default Pertronix ignitor II pros and cons

I have a 69 camaro that has a HEI distributor and I dont like the clearance that I have with the firewall and I am thinking of going with the Ignitor or Ignitor II from Pertronix or I know Crane and Mallory has a similar product and I dont know much about them and I would like to get some info about the items to find out which is the best one to go with. I know I will have a buy a small points distributor to install the new module in. What are the pros and cons of making this conversion and does it work properly? Any info that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
