Default Check out this video....

Found this on another site, figured some of you would appreciate it. It's Spiro Pappas' in his single turbo big block 69 RS, he runs in the same class as we do, outlaw 10.5 . His car is wicked fast, and the best part is it's not some aero wanna be pro stock body car, it's pure muscelcar, there are not many left running the old school cars, like the Elky we race in 10.5 too.
This class is getting wicked fast, you can see why we decided to go turbos after watching the video, they make HUGE power. Whats really sick is that Pappas' car is not the fastest in 10.5, Tim Lynch in his Mustang has gone a 6.50 I believe, thank goodness they are on the other coast from us, we will likely only see them in Vegas

Spiro Pappas' 69 Camaro

Very nice. Car sounds great and sure winds up fast. Do you have any idea of what size engine that is?

I believe it's a 522" with a single 115mm turbo. Whats cool about the car is it still looks like a Camaro, not a carbon fiber prostock.
Pretty amazing how the car carries the tires and up on the bars, I see we will need to have that end of the Elky dialed in too.... Hopefully it doesn't get quite as wicked carrying the hoops like Pappas' car, but it's quite a bit longer than a Camaro.
I was also impressed by how quick it spools up and no nonesense staging, thats why we went twins, but I think all the high end boost controllers and what not are making a big improvement in the Turbos.
Pretty amazing for sure, Tim Lynch has the fastest 10.5 car right now, he's gone 6.57 I believe, but I figure nobody on here wanted to see that.....since it's a mustang . Both cars are from the east coast, must be something in the water over there, or maybe just the year round testing.

I would say one of the most impressive things about this car is the say it stays right in the groove with no steering (cant steer with them fronts up like that)

0 to 215 in under 7 seconds.... Christ I think id poo my pants

Super nice car! I'm sure the new 69 with twins is going to be a handful.
Here is a another east coast guy. Drag Radial class. just set a record for the fastest NOS radial car.

Sean, I think I saw the Mustang you are talkng about it pretty much carries the wheels the whole length of the track. You're right about the improvements to turbo lag, it is just about non existant anymore, there are all kind of tricks to help eliminate it. The Camaro really didn't sound that "wild" or loud until he mashed the pedal. Sounded like a car you could see at a cruise in. Very impressive.

Holy smoke sixd8, that drag radial car is amazing! That thing is charging, and on a radial tire, oh yeah!

Lexustech, amazing how they ride on the bars huh? We had to mess with the Elky when we first ran it with the nitrous motor because it wanted to "steer" when up on the bars, but we got them dialed in. It's a whole 'nother ballgame when they are on the bars to 1000'+, the Elky really wasn't a wheelier though, it's wheelbase is so much lomger than a Camaro or Mustang hopefully it isn't quite as radical.

Royce, yeah Lynch's car is all over the net too, lots of scary fast passes. He is really the man to beat, but there are more than a couple out there gunning for him. His tuner Steve Petty has actually been giving us some tech advice on the Elky, the guy on our crew that convinced us to go turbos, and has been doing lots of the fab work, has been in touch with Petty during the build process. We are so close right now, but we are getting held up with the injectors, nobody has the ones we need and there are a couple guys currently making some new designs, it's our last item on the motor basically. Since the motor is alcohol it requires massive amounts of fuel, and big injectors.

Heres a couple of Lynch's car;
Lynch 6.5 pass
Lynch 1/8 mile wheelie

You east coasters are brutal competition too! We rarely see any east coast guys until the last race we hit in Vegas, the Supernationals the last three years and the PSCA races before that, and especially in pro street they are #1 or #2 it seems. In outlaw 10.5 it seems like a west coaster usually wins, last year Pappas owned the class but broke in the semi's. With Lynch and Pappas at any race, if they are on their game they are nearly unbeatable, but as any drag racer knows being faster is only half the battle, maybe less.
