I've used these solder plugs before to fill in holes, but I don't know who sells them. I know Eastwood doesn't sell then.
If you've never seen them, they're great. They're little solder plugs that come in different sizes. If you want to fill a drilled hole, emblem, or any hole, all you have to do is get it to bare metal, use a little tinning acid, then find the right size plug. Using a fine torch or heavy duty soldering iron, melt the edges of the plug and then file smooth. With this set up, the metal doesn't warp, and if you wanted put the emblems back, a little heat and the plugs are gone. Now.... only if I can find out where to get them!!!! |

Have you ever used acid core solder? Works pretty much the same way.

Yes, on smaller hole. The plugs are nice and a lot faster for hole larger than 3/8" on really thin metal. Several of my freinds are looking for it too. |
