Hi Guys,
I just got an Auburn limited slip differential and Moser axles to upgrade my current stock 67 RS 10-bolt rear end. The car has a slightly modified 327 and a TH 350 tranny with a shift kit. I want something that isn't going to rev too high at highway speeds, but still give me some performance. I was thinking about going with a 3.73 gear ratio...does that sound about right to you guys? Thanks for your opinions, John

3.73's may be a bit much for the highway without OD. Depends on your personal preference, but you may be happier with something in the 3.23-3.42 range if you do a lot of highway driving.
Here's a calculator. You can play with different gear ratios and see what you like. http://www.ringpinion.com/Calc_RPM.aspx Mark

3:73's with a turbo 350 were too much for me on the highway. I Have 3:25's now and love them. You can either get 3:08's or 3:31's I believe.

I would go 3.08, 3.36, or 3.55 with stock 10 bolt, depending on tire height. I wouldn't do 3.73 unless I switched to 2004R transmissin. I have 26.1" tire.

I have a 3:73 ratio and TH350 and it seems good on the hiway.
rpms about 3100 (at 65 mph) So as long as your not running 75 etc. youll be fine. or if you want lower RPMs at highway speeds go with a 3:55 gear its the best of both worlds. |

Mine runs about 3000ish @ 65 with 28" tall tires and 3.73's. (Not an overdrive trans.)

Well I think I've decided to compromise...I think I'm going to go with 3.55 gears to help reduce highway speed RPM but still have a little pop.
Thanks for all the great advice guys!
