Maybe you guys could help me out here. A 327 with a 6K tach? What if this is a BB car?

Good catch. 327/350 tachs were 5500. It has a small block fan shroud but I suppose that could have been changed.

It was on ebay on April 2nd (by seller narvaezsergio2749) and the description included a statement that said:
Quote:
"Could" be a Z... It sold (to littleskittle25) for $17,200.10 on April 9th, but it came back again on 05-03-08, this time by elloco950, the same person as narvaezsergio2749. It appears that littleskittle25 reniged on the deal. Ed

Ed, 69's have the release farther forward. Those are 68's.

Harley I wouldn't put too much faith into the interior tipping off a possible Z, but the glove box decal is original would certainly point that way. The Muncie, multi leaf and 4 piston power discs were also available options on other models, but also required on the Z cars, so it has some of the indications that would certainly cause me to look at it further if a Z is what you are looking for. Since the shift boot is an overly large boot sticking out of the console where, (there should have been a very short boot covered by a plastic slider in the console) this leads me to believe the console was added after the fact and possibly the tach too? None of the tach or gages were standard or required on the Z. Also appears to have manual steering, a real plus in my book, not so much for other guys apparently. I think the majority of 68Z cars came with manual, I know mine did and I liked it that way. The dash has a Firebird woodgrain on it and not the correct 68 Camaro wood grain, that along with the deluxe door panels and an otherwise standard interior I'd think it's had quite a bit of interior changed out over the years.
But the tire pressure decal, Muncie, 4 piston discs and other things certainly make it a good candidate that bears a closer look. I really like the 67-8 RS package, but a word of caution that it could take a lot of $$ and time to make the doors operational again. Don't under estimate that task when you are trying to figure out how much of a project you're up for.

What Dave said. I'm not saying it's a Z. I only said it "could" be. And this is only if all the pieces fall into place. Not enough info in the auction to say one way or the other.
And you never know... That may be why littleskittle25 reniged! Thought he had a Z28 and turned out to be a clone. But the seller never stated in either of the auctions it was a Z, so go with that. Ed

Ed's exactly right. One thing for certain though is if you don't check it out further, someone else will get it and if it turned out to be a Z and the owner didn't know it you'll have missed a good deal.
I almost didn't check out a 68SS a couple years ago because I just assumed it was probably a clone, since most are today. Calling the owner he mentioned it was a clone. The only reason I checked it out was it was only 1 1/2 hours away and was a Muncie, 12 bolt, manual steering, non-AC car. All things that every first gen I buy must have. Checking it out it turns out to be a legit SS350 Camaro and I quickly brought it home. The guys didn't know what he had. Don't feel too bad for him though because he emptied my wallet as the car was in really nice shape and I paid too much for what he thought he had, but got a steal on a real SS small block car. Just shows you that it's worth checking out every lead if it's a Z you really want.
