There was a thread a few days ago about original gas tanks being date coded. Being somewhat anal sort that I am....I checked my original tank for a date. I have no reason to believe that my tank isn't the original, but I am unable to find a date. Does anyone have a picture of that date code on an original tank that might help me locate mine?
Thanks Bob |

The date on the 69 RS/Z Survivor car is stamped on the front drivers corner of the flange where the top and bottom halves meet. It is visible from the bottom if you use a creeper and roll in under the gas tank toward the shock on hte Drivers side... the tank will have to be almost spotless though as the stamp is small... I found it by accident when cleaning the original tank...
