Default Speedometer sender leak

I have a 700r4 with a Autometer Hall-effect sender, Model #5291. It all works well, but after every drive there is a small puddle of tranny fluid on the ground near the back end of the tranny, its not the very end where the spline is. The speedometer sender looks like it may be the culprit, it has a red plastic cap on some threads that is for cruise control to hook up to, the instructions say leave the cap on if you do not have cruise. Is it possible to have a leak here? If so is there a "o" ring gone bad on the tranny side? Thanks
