Default Do I need sub frame connectors???

I have a 69 with a 383 engine thats putting out about 450 H.P.
with a th400 trans(built) and a Moser 3:73 rear. At what point are sub frame connectors recommended??? I ran the car at the track once(without success because of 18" street tires) and will be looking to make some passes with slicks or cheater slicks. do I need to have connectors to prevent any damage???? Also, will a cheater slicks be enough at that H.P.???? or should I play it safe & buy the full slick??? I only want to buy them once.......Thanks
Mike

I would strongly suggest installing connectors to prevent any twisting, especially if you are racing. You will notice a huge difference as well once installed!

i think the general rule is slicks=need subframe connectors. you'll probably like them with your street tires, too.

Subframe connectors regardless. High HP equals twisting and sooner or later paint will crack.

Make sure the subframe is lined up properly prior to installation.

I put a set of SFC's on my 2002 a few years ago. It is by far the best money I've ever spent on a vehicle. It's amazing how much more solid the car feels.

I ran mid 10's in my car without connectors. A friend of mine also runs mid 10's in his '68 without connectors.

As a general rule once you get over 400hp, it's time for sub-frame connectors.

Put subframe connectors on and get ready to be amazed.

Your car's body will become more rigid and be easier to control.

I put connectors and a 10 point cage in last year. Drove the same. Only difference was when going in and out of the driveway there was no body flex.

For a driver this is a great reason for doing a set of SFC's. The squeaks and rattles over bumps are diminished. In my opinion it makes the car seem much more refined.
