I am having trouble sorting out and finding headers to fit the Bowtie Phase 6 heads. These heads have angle plugs and 'D' shape exhaust ports. I want to use a header that enhances scavenging such as the Flowtech( already said no) or the Hedman Tork step( of which the 1 1/2 inch primary seems small . Getting a custom 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 plus ceramic coating is prohibitively expensive. Anybody out there with success or horror stories. Please be brand / pn specific so I can sort through it.
Thanks,
Mark

Doug Thorley makes a very good quality header, they are a tri-Y design, they come with extra thick flanges and nickel plating. These headers suposedly fit angle plug heads. I think you can get them from Summit.

Cool

Just a word of caution,IF you go the ceramic coated header route.I put Dynomax Jet Hot Coated headers on last year. They look great,no corrosion, blueing, but this ceramic coating scratches VERY easy,I was suprised.

67drake - for a bit of humor. 15 years ago I had built a 350/pg trans Datsun pickkup with 5.38 gears. Anyway, while adjusting the rockers I had a small engine fire. In the insane attempt to put out the fire being fed by a electic pump on steriods (the hard aluminim fuel line had melted through) a CO2 extinguisher the size of welding gas tank was used. Anyway, the CO2 coated the entire headers from heads on back and formed a VERY hard powder white surface that even in the Wash DC moisture never ever rusted. It was the best powder coat I have ever seen! Believe it or not, I have even thought about coating another set the same way (after heating up from normal engine, not fire...).

I would also like to recommend the Doug Thorley Tri-Y header. I have them on my 69 smal block. They look great and develop a lot of torque. They were recommended to me and I'm satisfied. I contacted them on the internet and they gave me a good deal. They were out of Nevada but have them available at Summit also. They have a lifetime guarantee also.

Thanks, I'll check in on th DT's. Anyone have an opinion on Schoenfeld 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 step tube headers? They are very reasonable price wise.

I just built a 327 and went with the DART 202 heads, a great choice. I had the option of straight or angle plugs and after asking around i went with the angled. Well because of that i just purchased a set of Hooker Super Comp headers, jet hot coated with a price of 550. Thats one of two that would fit. Well after the shock of paying for them, a year later i look at thier beauty and realize it was well worth the money.

Probably the best headers available are custom Hedders By Ed. Lots more torque than anything else made. Not cheap though and you'll want to Jet Hot coat them inside and out.
