Hey guys just looking for seats for the tube chassis Camaro.
Don't want to use plastic or aluminum. looking for something nicer like Recaro type. Anyone got any suggestions? They need to be very low to the floor for head room. Thanks, Brian |

Take a look at the Corbeau CR1 racing seats. Very comfortable and reasonably priced. Here's a link http://www.corbeau.com/products/reclining_seats/cr1/.

Yea,
I like the Corbeau's but the model I was looking at was Pricey. I think it was the TRS. Brian |

Make sure you measure before you buy seats. I put a square tube chassis under my 61 Skylark and there is no way I could put anything other than an aluminum type seat in the car. The top on the Skylark is quite a bit lower than a Camaro but, this can still be an issue. I'm 6'4" though. With the tube chassis is really cuts down on head room.

Brian,
Have you thought about modifying a set of 4th Gen. seats ( i.e.adding cut outs for 5 point harness) for the 67? Just my 2 cents. When you decide on the seats, please post the results.

I don't even think I could run sliders on THe Corbeau, it would have to be bolted right to the floor. I was going to use the plastic Jazz seats but sold them. I just like to have something nicer looking. Brian |

Have you looked at the Kirkey seats? They're aluminum but, there are a lot of nice padded covers for them. They are actually comfortable. I was going to run factory style bucket seats but, even with no tracks my head was through the roof. Sounds like you have a handle on it, I just don't know what other type of seat will have a low enough profile.

A Kirkey with custom leather upholstery may be the way to go. Brian |
