can someone tell me how to find main caps that will match up with my 3892657 block.

the machine shop told me that I have one good main cap the rest were wrong - ^7178 8N

If you don't have the original main caps you can use any SBC main cap relative the main journal size but you will have to have the block aligned bored. Depending How much the the crank is move up will determine if you required a specific timing chain set. A friend actually aligned bored .020" toward the top and ended up with a 0 DECK, neat - HUH!

What did they say was wrong about them ? The 7178 ??? Or the fit to the block ?
