Qualcomm stadium runs 1/8th mile drags every Friday night, I'll be out of town this coming Friday, but the Friday after I get back I'm going to run.

My question is, what pressure should I run in my BFG Drag T/A's? 275/60x15's with 4:11 12 bolt posi, TH400 with 3,500 stall TCI converter and shift kit. Engine is a ZZ502. Have multi-leafs and KYB Gas-a-justs all the way around, aluminum radiator and battery in the trunk.

Also, I've heard conflicting stories about burnout length, just spin them over a couple times to clean them off, or heat them up?

Thanks,
Mike a.k.a. 68SS502

Don't heat them up, the rubber that is left will not help traction at all!

I'd start at 20-22 PSI...what I do is pump them up to 20PSI, then do a short burnout (not holding the brake, just mash the pedal), get out and look at the tire marks. If they are uneven (cross-section), then you need to adjust the pressure.

I agree. I have had the best luck just cleaning them off.

bfg say that doing a long or extended burnout will ruin the tires effect, the tread will ball up and become slippery

I run Nitto drags instead of bfg (better life, and they are quite good in rain) and I've run as low as 16 psi
